Digitisation request form

Request digitisation of printed resources

This service is for staff only.

Under the University’s Higher Education Copyright licence we can scan 10%, one chapter, or one article from a book or journal. Unfortunately, we cannot offer digitisation to students, however, you are welcome to scan one chapter, one article, or 10% of a book for your own use. Scanning is free on any printer.

After scanning, this content can be uploaded onto the VLE. Members of the University are not licensed to scan or copy more of a book or journal than stated above, whether it is being used for teaching or research. Scanning or copying a greater amount of a book or journal is an infringement of copyright law.

    • You can request 1 chapter from a book or 1 article from a journal/magazine
    • For book chapters, if the book is not currently available on the library catalogue, there may be a delay in delivery
    • You will be sent a link to the scanned item. You can then share this on your VLE page
    • We aim to scan and deliver your item ASAP. Please note, requests for the beginning of the academic year need to be made by July

Please tick the boxes below to confirm that you are happy to use the scan within the following UK Copyright restrictions.

By submitting this form I agree that:

    • I have not previously been supplied with a copy of this material by any library
    • I will only use the scans for the purposes of teaching with Norwich University of the Arts and will not share the scans with anybody outside the institution.
    • To the best of my knowledge, no part of this book/journal has been scanned for institutional use previously.
    • I understand that if this declaration is false in any material particular, the copy supplied to me by you will be an infringing copy and that I shall be liable for the infringement of copyright as if I had made the copy myself.
