Celebrating 40 years of the Turner Prize
The UK’s most prestigious but often controversial art award, the Turner Prize, is celebrating its fortieth year in 2024.
Named after J. M. W. Turner, the award celebrates a British artist under 50 who has had an outstanding exhibition or presentation of their work in the past twelve months.
The exhibition of the 2024 nominees’ work will run until 16 February with the winner being announced on 3 December.
Below are a selection of winners from the past forty years, with links to their books held by the library.
